Haverhill has been breeding KUSA-registered Dobermanns since 2001. We run a small number of imported dogs from award winning European kennels. We take a great deal of pride and care in producing show quality, healthy Dobermanns with sound temperaments for discerning buyers.

Haverhill is a beautiful property situated inland of Durban, Kwa Zulu Natal. We have over 8 acres of indigenous trees and grassland, with 2.5 acres of fenced paddocks and camps for our dogs to run freely around. All the dogs live inside our house, none are kenneled, although they are all crate-trained and are happy to spend “quiet time” away from each other on a routine basis. Bitches are bred selectively once a year, and we take great pride in ensuring that the puppies are kept in the best possible environment for their health, and their physical and mental development. We use the Bio Sensor/Super Dog Programme which consists of early neurological stimulation exercises performed from days three to sixteen of the puppies' lives. Our puppies leave Haverhill temperament tested (Volhard's test) and socialised, healthy and ready for their new lives ahead, whether to be home companions or working dogs.

Breeding is not an exact science, and the health of the Dobermann is arguably more important today than ever before. Besides compulsory hip dysplasia certification, all of our dogs are VWd clear, and undergo annual 24 hr Holter monitor and echocardiographs to ensure that their DCM (Dilated Cardiomyopathy) status is known before, during, and long after they have retired from the breeding programme.

Besides conforming to the breed standard, we ensure that our puppies are bred for temperaments to become ideal companions, working dogs and family pets, and we are diligent about their health.

We feed only Hill's because they are constantly innovating to ensure the highest quality ingredients and optimal balance of nutrients to meet our dogs' specific age, breed and medical needs.
