Not just a pretty face!

I am a small hobbyist breeder. I come from a horse background and I was drawn to the Chinese Crested by the elegance and athleticism innate to the breed. I fell in love with how they move, like well-bred, beautiful horses. 

My passion is for true hairless dogs and, when I set about importing a sire, pre potance of the hairless gene was atop consideration for me. It took me 6 months to find a dog that fitted the bill, and I had never ever shown or trained a dog before. 

I had a whole lot of beginners luck and the rest is history. My dogs are all health-tested and the breed is robust and hardy. 

Starting with a true hairless bitch and my first imported dog, their progeny has exceeded all my expectations in the breed ring, in the working arenas and, most importantly, at home. All my dogs work, I am first and foremost a working kennel.

LunaBlu has the first multi-discipline Champion Chinese Cresteds in South Africa. My sires are all three-way champions and we are prestigiously ranked in the top 10 small Agilty dogs in South Africa. And that's something I am super proud of - to have Best in Show youngsters, that have gone on and earned  their provincial colours as well as Top Small Agility Dogs in KZN for 2 years running against the dogs bred for generations to work. 

We also made the SA Agility Team and competed in Finland in 2019 on the world stage, with the best of the best.

But first and foremost, my dogs are dogs... they are raised in my home and are a playful and unruly bunch, generally grubby, muddy and happy. The beach and swimming in our local lagoon keeps them fit and conditioned and balances hard work with play.

I have two imported males from the USA and three separate outcrossed bloodlines. 

This year I am planning my second line-bred litter, with much excitement.
