BREED CLASSES (* compulsory classes)

Baby Puppy

For dogs of four (4) under six (6) months of age on the first day of the show (not eligible for CC or BOB).

* Minor Puppy

For dogs of six (6) under nine (9) months of age on the first day of the Show.

* Puppy

For dogs of nine (9) under twelve (12) months of age on the first day of the Show.

* Junior

For dogs of twelve (12) under eighteen (18) months of age on the first day of the Show.

* Graduate

For dogs of eighteen (18) under twenty- four (24) months of age on the first day of the Show.

* Open

For dogs of any Breed therein provided for.

Champion

Officially a KUSA Champion – Does not compete for CC

SA Bred

Dogs born in South Africa

Veteran

Over 7 years of age

Neuter Dog

For dogs of any age that have been castrated for whatever reason (not eligible for CC or BOB).

Members

Exhibitor is a member of the show holding club.

Breeders

The exhibitor is the breeder

Working Dog

Minimum qualifications: Class A, CD, IPO 1, BWT or TT 2/ITT 2

Maiden

For dogs that have not won a prize at any Championship show

Novice

For dogs that have not won a first prize at any Championship show

Imported

Imported from any country outside of KUSA jurisdiction

Namibian Bred

Dogs born in Namibia

Visitors

Dogs domiciled beyond a 160 km radius of the show.

Local

Dogs domiciled within a 160 km radius of the show.

Progeny

At least 3 dogs each entered in a breed class other than Brace or Team together with sire OR dam that need NOT be entered in another class.

Brace

Two exhibits of one breed belonging to the same exhibitor, each exhibit having been entered in a breed class other than brace.

Team

Three or more exhibits of one breed belonging to the same exhibitor, each exhibit having been entered in a breed class other than brace.

BREED CLASSES (* compulsory classes)

Minor Puppy

For dogs four (4) to six (6) months of age on the day of the Show. Does not compete for CACIB. Competes for Best Minor Puppy only. (Optional Class)- Must be inoculated.

Puppy

For dogs of six (6) and under nine (9) months of age on the day of the Show. Does not compete for CACIB. Competes for Best Puppy only. (Optional Class)

* Junior

For dogs of nine (9) and under eighteen (18) months of age on the day of the Show. Does not compete for Best Puppy or CACIB. Does compete for Best of Breed. (Compulsory Class)

* Intermediate

For dogs of fifteen (15) and under twenty- four (24) months of age on the day of the Show. Does compete for CACIB. (Compulsory Class)

* Open

For dogs of any Breed therein provided for but must be fifteen (15) months and over on the day of the Show. Does compete for CACIB. (Compulsory Class)

* Working

Working Breeds of fifteen (15) months of age on the day of the Show with Minimum qualifications: Class “A” Obedience, CD, IPO 1, or Breed Working Test with at least 75% possible mark. Does compete for CACIB. (Compulsory Class)

* Champion

A recognised KUSA/FCI Champion. Does compete for CACIB. (Compulsory Class)

* Veteran

Over eight (8) years of age on the day of the Show. Does not compete for CACIB. Does compete for Best of Breed. (Compulsory Class)

VARIETY CHALLENGES

Breeders Class/Competition

Consisting of a minimum of three (3) and maximum of five (5) exhibits of the same breed and variety, without distinction of sex, bred by the same person (same Kennel name), even if they are not his/her property. Each exhibit having been entered into a compulsory breed class

Brace/Couple Class/Competition

A dog and a bitch of the same breed and variety and belonging to the same owner. Each exhibit having been entered in a compulsory breed class.

Progeny Class / Competition

Sire & Dam with minimum three (3) and maximum five (5) of his/her progeny (first generation, sons/daughters) Each exhibit having been entered in a compulsory breed class.

   
                       
   
HANDLING CLASSES
   
   

When judging these classes the judge shall consider only:-

  The ability of the Handler to control the exhibit;
  The ability of the Handler in ‘setting up' the dog as an exhibit;
  The ability of the Handler to ‘gait' the dog at a desirable pace for the judge;
  The presentation of the exhibit to accentuate its qualities to the best advantage;
  Only normal ring movements are allowed;
  The dress and ring demeanour of the handler;
