Can a member of KUSA become an official of the FCI?
As associate mAs associate member, you can't have a representative in the FCI General Committee or in the Compulsory CCompulsory Commissions (standards, scientific, legal). You can however still have delegates in the non-computhe non-compulsory commissions (retrievers, spaniels, utility, etc.)

Can we continue to use FCI Regulations for such things as IPO?
No only that you can, but you have to. One of the conditions under which ALL members (associate or federated) are accepted is the observance of ALL FCI rules and regulations in events held under the aegis of the FCI.

Can we continue to use standards recognized by the FCI, which KUSA has adopted?

Can we hold a CACIB Show? (But based on FCI rules and standards?)
Yes, you can but there is no obligation. This obligation applies to Federated Members exclusively. If you do so, of course, FCI rules and standards apply.

Can we host a Regional FCI Show?
No. Section and World Dog Shows may only be organised by federated members.

Can we host a World FCI Show?

Can we participate in FCI International Events and send individuals and teams to represent KUSA?
Yes, there is no objection to it. FCI Events and Competitions are open to all the FCI members, whether associate or federated, and to contract partners too.

Can we propose and vote at FCI Meetings?
You can propose but can not vote.

Can we serve on the Commissions?

Can we use the FCI logo?
Yes you can.

Will FCI judges still be able to judge in this country at KUSA Shows. (Different rules and breed standards to FCI)?
Yes they will be allowed to judge any event held under KUSA jurisdiction. You will still be considered as a member.

Will our dogs be able to be shown at World Shows?

Will the export situation remain as it is at the moment or will we have to issue export pedigrees and when dogs are imported into South Africa will a separate pedigree have to be issued by the country of origin? (At the moment an overstamping situation exists).
Export pedigrees must be issued whether associate or federated members. In case of import, you simply have to keep the current system, i.e. to overstamp the original (export) pedigree with the new KUSA registration number.

Will the FCI continue to recognize us as the only dog organisation in South Africa, or do we leave ourselves open to having the FCI recognize another organisation?
KUSA will remain the only organisation enjoying membership in South Africa .

Will we be required at some time in the future to convert our breed standards wholly to FCI recognised ones? (i.e. would the Buenos Aires agreement be cancelled?)
From the moment you are FCI member, whether associate or federated, you have to follow the FCI standards. We understand that you can't make it overnight but you'll (as well as all FCI members) constantly be asked to do your utmost possible to comply with this requirement.

Of course you will.

Will we have to accept changes to rules and regulations covered by the FCI?
