Meet the Judges...

 

Jennifer Miller
Began exhibiting & handling dogs in 1958, awarding CCs to English Springer Spaniels, Welsh Springer Spaniels, Cocker Spaniels, American Cocker Spaniels & German Shepherd Dogs. Also has awarded Green Stars in 18 breeds in the Gundog Group. Made up 15 UK English Springer Spaniels champions along with 2 UK champions in Skye Terriers. Judged many times abroad including Barbados, Finland, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Italy, Iceland, New Zealand & Zimbabwe.

Frank Bothwell
Has been involved with showing Beagles since the late 60s. Has been involved in a number of breeds such as Bichon Frise, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, German Short Haired Pointers, Pointers and Whippets along with his wife, Eleanor, where they have made up many U K champions. Their stock has been made up in other countries. He awards CCs in the following breeds in the UK: Afghans, Beagles, Ridgebacks & Whippets.

Eleanor Bothwell
Like her husband, has been involved for many years breeding & exhibiting various breeds with many champions in the UK and abroad. Eleanor is a Hound group judge in the UK. She has judged in many countries including Australia, Ireland, Germany, Scandinavia & South Africa. She is a Kennel Club approved lecturer on breed construction and gives seminars through the UK. Eleanor has just judged her first Best in Show at Manchester All breeds Championship Show this year.

Jeff Luscotte
The owner, along with his wife Amanda, of a large boarding kennel & grooming parlour, they are also very known for their top winning Lhasa Apsos. Jeff judged for EDKC some years ago. He is the Show Manager one of the largest shows in the UK. A Pastoral (Herding) Group judge who has judged in many overseas countries. He awards CCs in a number of breeds including Parson Russell Terriers, Dobermanns, Great Danes, Belgian Shepherds & Border Collies.

Colin Powell
Has been involved with Terriers since 1980, having bred champions in the UK & America and has a very keen interest in all Terrier breeds. He has judged over 500 classes of Terriers with 22 Terrier Groups.

Des Jenkins
Has been involved in our dog sport for many years, concentrating mainly on Toys, having made up many UK champions. This will be his first South African appointment so a fresh opinion will be available. He is a Group Judge and his main breeds, at present, are Cavalier King Charles Spaniels & Chinese Cresteds.

Dr. Jose Mendiola
A world-renowned judge who has had appointments in many countries. He has a very wide knowledge of many breeds even though he is a medical doctor by profession. This will be his first time in South Africa. Some of his other hobbies are collecting walking sticks, Rolex watches and he is a lover of classical music. Has owned Dobermanns, Miniature Pinschers & Shih Tzus. An All breeds Championship Show judge for many years & Past President of the Philippine Kennel Club, where he still holds an executive position.

Fernando Costa Maia
A graduate of Business Administration by profession. A qualified All breeds Judge by the Brazilian Kennel Club, he has been judging since 1970. He is recognized as a Specialist of Boxers, Miniature Pinschers, Pointers & GSDs. Other breeds he has owned include Bassets, Chow Chows, Labradors, Dachshunds, Pugs & Whippets. Has been a Director of the Councils of the Brazilian Kennel Club and is, at present, Vice President of the Judges Federal Council. He has judged all-breeds shows throughout Brazil, International shows in South America, and Australia including Melbourne Royal 1991 and 1999, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, Portugal & Singapore.
