Our breed judge this year is world renowned Rottweiler Specialist judge Fernando Lucas Martins from Portugal.

Married to Julie Lucas Martins, they have two children named Lucas and Patricia. His kennel name “de Lucamar” was established in 1985. Fernando is currently a member of the ADRK, Portuguese Kennel Club and the Rottweiler Club of Portugal. From 1993 until 2004 he was the President of the Portuguese Rottweiler Club and a member of the breeding committee. From 2000 until 2003 he served as the 4th President of the International Friends of the Rottweiler (IFR).

His international judging career began in 1995. Fluent in Portuguese, English, French, Spanish, Italian & German, he has judged in many countries around the world such as:
Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, Italy, Austria, Russia, USA, Brazil, Argentina, Costa Rica, México, Chile, Equador , Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Spain, Belgium, Canada and Korea.

He has also officiated around the world with many other well respected specialists such as: Carla Lensi, Gabriele Wodak, Joe Hedl, Roger Vandereyken, Anton Spindler, Mathias Meyer, Paul Fleige, Uwe Petermann and Hartmut Teschke.

In 2008 he judged in Italy, Canada, Russia, Romania, Australia, New Zealand, Spain and Mexico.

His appointments for 2009 include Indonesia, South Africa, Brasil, Colombia and the IFR being held in Belgium.
